Come and experience Senior Athletics
Believe it or not life in track and field competition goes way beyond U16. Many of the ideals and aspects of Little Athletics are the same. You can take part for pure fun, the rush of competing or just to get your PB in your favourite event. Competition is against other clubs. We have local venue, association, and state finals. But also remember, if you want to start getting serious and be the next Cathy Freeman, Matt Shirvington or Kyle Vander Kuyp, senior athletics is the way to go.
· Gain knowledge from specialist coaches and senior athletes that have been involved with the sport for many years.
· Expand on the skills learnt at Little Athletics and develop them to the next level.
· Try new events such as Pole Vault or 400m hurdles.
Not sure if you want to take the next step? It may feel a bit scary being the youngest people in a new environment. Dual membership may be what you are looking for. This lets you still run in your current Little Athletic club and also for Knox seniors (from U14) for only a fraction of the normal registering cost. This way you can get a taste for the way the system works. Also if you try it with a few of your friends, you will not be on your own.
Summer & Winter
Summer competition runs basically the same as little Aths – From October until March at Knox Park. These are normal track and field events.
Winter is cross country time and runs from April until September. These meets are at different venues around town.
