The Multi Event is a competition which, tests an athlete’s all round skills with points allocated depending on their level of performance in a set range of events. U/7 are over 4 events and U/8 to U/15 are over 5 events.

U/7  (1)100m, (2) Long Jump, (3) Discus & (4) 400m

U/8  (1) 100m, (2) Long Jump, (3) Discus, (4) 60m Hurdles & (5) 600m

U/9-U/15  (1) 100m, (2) Long Jump, (3) Discus, (4) Hurdles & (5) 800m

The winner of the Multi Event is the athlete with the highest total point score after all events.

This event places a stronger emphasis on the participation of children in a wider range of events rather than the specialisation in one or two specific events. The winner is considered as the best all round athlete.

See www.klac23.org.au/multiscoringeventscoring.htm  scoring details. U/7 and U/8's point scoring differs to the U/9 to U/15's with a modified set of tables.

The Knox Centre started the Multi-Event day in the 2003/04 season on the last competition day in December.

The State Multi-Event Championships, which first started in 1993,  is over two days, now in early February,  with the younger groups competing on the Saturday and the older ones on the Sunday which is for the U/9 to U/15 age groups. This is generally always conducted in country Victoria.

For those competing in the State Multi-Event Championships, the Knox Centre will pay for the entry fees and parents are required to do half day duty. The Knox Centre Multi-Event day is included in your fees.

For participating athletes competing on the Knox Multi-Event day, all Parents will be required to do duty. We thought it would be fairer to have it as two shifts, as it is an 8:30am to 1:00pm program. The change over time for duty is 10:45am.

NOTE: A new Multi-Event point scoring system was introduced for the 2008 State Multi-Event Championships. The VLAA are now using the Alberta Youth Points (VLAA Edition 2007) which is available from  HERE!. All Under 9 to 15 Multi-Event point scores below have been converted to this new point scoring system.
