PRESIDENTS REPORT 2001/2002

Wow! Has it really been 6 months since we started the 2001/2002 season. I hope everyone enjoyed Little Aths this past season, and trust you will return next season.

There are many people I would like to thank for their support and efforts throughout the season,

Firstly out Team Official, Bronwyn Leggate who week in and week out, trains and judges all athletes competing in Shot Put.

Secondly our Team Manager, Troy Williams who like Bronwyn was there every week battling the hot and sweaty athletes tor record their times and distances in the record book.

To our Secretary, Kevin Cook. How is it possible for someone to actually put onto paper, the mindless and idle chatter the committee gabbled on at meetings, is beyond me.

To our Treasurer, Lyn Williams who managed to keep our accounts in good order from many a crumpled receipt and scribbled note.

To my wife, Deb for annoying everyone collecting Tattslotto money. Well I suppose it was only annoying if you weren't a winner.

To our Newsletter Editor, Noel Hynes who took on this job without even being asked and kept us up to date with the gossip.

To our Chef Extraordinaire, Peter Leggate who not only showed his culinary craft with sausages and hamburgers, but also tantalised our taste buds with pancakes.

To Peter and Cathy Russell for supplying the lolly bags for the athletes and their brothers and sisters at Christmas.

Last, but by no means least to you the parents for participating in duty throughout the season, working in the canteen, baking cakes for the cake stall, donating goods and services for the raffle and the selling of raffle tickets. Thanks to the Egan family in obtaining the HSV/HRT items. With your continued help and involvement the club will hopefully grow stronger.

To all of the athletes that competed on Knox Championship day, I hope you had a fun day

Special congratulations must go to Tim Leggate for achieving U14 Boys Best Overall Athlete and the Personal Best Award. Tim also achieved this feat in the U13's.

Again I thank all athletes and families for your endless help and commitment during the season, the committee members for their efforts to keep Bayswater Bullets up and running for our children.

The future of Bayswater Bullets Little Athletics Club now depends on us, children and adults, to stay on and become involved with the running of the club

Ian Polkinghorne

TEAM MANAGERS REPORT 2001/2002

The 2001/2002 Season has seen the Bayswater Bullets Athletic Club perform outstanding, despite our small club size. New Athletes from Bayswater North and Our Lady of the Lordes Primary Schools have boosted our numbers and hopefully we will continue to grow in Season 2002/2003. Parents and kids tell all your friends how great little athletics is and come and join in the fun when we return to start a new season in September.

The have been some wonderful moments through the season with all athletes clocking up those PB's and trying their best week in and week out. Some of the highlights have been watching the kids go from learning an event and progress to being very competitive. The faces of the kids as they come to me with their tickets and I highlight a PB is priceless.

The Season has also seen some outstanding achievements with a Silver Medal awarded to Courtney Russell at the Knox Open Day held in January. Congratulations also go to those who won medals at the Knox Championship Day held in March. Courtney Russell with a Bronze in both the Shot Put and the Discus, Lori Hodgkinson Bronze in the High Jump, Lindsay Polkinghorne Bronze in both the 60m and 200m Hurdles and Tim Leggate gold in the 800m and Silver in the Steeplechase.

We have 3 new club records this season. Lindsay Polkinghorne in the Under 11 Boys 200m Hurdles with a time of 38.77. Daniel Peel in the Under 12 Boys 200m Hurdles with a time of 36.69. Darren Campbell in the Under 14 Boys 100m Hurdles with a time of 21.75. WELL DONE BOY'S!

A special mention to Tim Leggate, who for the second time has won the best male competitor for his age group at the Knox Open Day Championships.

The Summer season is now over and I would like to thank all the kids and parents for their support throughout the Season. To the kids who helped write the events on the whiteboard and to all those who slipped into the seat and recorded the results when I needed a cuppa, THANK YOU. To all the parents who went on duty throughout the Season, you make it possible for the events to run for the kids. To Ian and Deb Polkinghorne who gave more than their share of support, giving their own busy roles and and to all fellow Committee members who offered their assistance and support during the Season. Thanks

Congratulations to all the Athletes and I hope to see you all back next season.

Troy Williams
