PRESIDENTS REPORT 2000/2001

Where has the time gone? It seems such a long time since we were dodging rain drops and rugging up against cold wind that was freezing us through to our bones, or just not competing due to meet washouts early in the season.

The are many people I wish to thank for their support and efforts throughout the season.

Firstly, our Team Official, Bronwyn Leggate for braving all weather conditions whilst training and judging all athletes competing in shot put. Also her endless supply of coleslaw for our BBQ on twilight meets.

To our Team Manager, Jenny Walker, her daughter Elizabeth and Janine Mills our Assistant Team Manager for their patience and perseverance trying to fill out record sheets while surrounded by hot and sweaty athletes.

To our Treasurer, Raelene Davis who after fathoming out where the money had come from or what it was for from our bits of notes made many a trip to the bank.

To Kevin Cook who took on the Secretary's job at the start of the season (due to other commitments Heather had to resign) His ability to draft minutes amongst the idle chatter was excellent.

To my wife, Debbie for annoying everyone every week for the tattslotto money. Well it was only annoying if you weren't a lucky winner.

To our Chef Extraordinaire Peter Leggate for his culinary craft at the BBQ. Without Peter and his gas bottle we probably would of all gone hungry.

Last, but by no means least to you the parents/supporters for participating in duty through out the season, working in the canteen, your donations for the Christmas Raffle and supplying cakes for our stall. With out your involvement in these activities the club would be nothing.

Thanks to you and your hard work, Bayswater Bullets was awarded the Best Supporters Group Trophy.

Once again our Boys (sorry Girls) won Best Boys Team trophy. Congratulations boys!

A special mention must go to Tim Leggate for his achievements this season. He won the Best Under 13 Boys trophy as well as the Personal Best Trophy for Under 13's. Congratulations! All the above mentioned awards/trophies were presented at the Knox Athletics Centre on Championship day 24th March 2001.

Again I thank all athletes and families for your endless help and commitment during the season and all committee members for efforts to keep Bayswater Bullets up and running for our children.

The future of Bayswater Bullets Little Athletics Club now depends on us all, children and grown ups, to stay on and become involved with the everyday running of things around the club. As I found out it isn't that hard.

Ian Polkinghorne

TEAM MANAGERS REPORT 2001/2002

What an excellent season the club had this year. While our registrations might have made us the smallest club, the enthusiasm of the children, parents and some very quiet achievers has been great.

Firstly, I would like to congratulate Ashley Vandelaak on his state level performance, Tim Leggate on his extra special wins from the Knox Centre, our boys for their 'Best Boy's Club' trophy two years running and the parents for our 'Best Supporters' award. When you consider there are 11 clubs and only 4 trophies, this is an excellent result for the club. I would like to thank everyone for their help and support over this summer - many hands make it easier for everyone involved.

Please remember the winter season Cross Country runs which start on April 7th. It's a good fun run around local parks (when the weather's nice). So if you feel like losing the kids or having a run yourself - at no extra cost. See pages 5 & 18 of your yellow handbook or call Steve Cowburn on 9802 9224.

Best wishes to you all for next season. Keep up the good sportsmanship kids.

Jenny Walker
