PRESIDENTS REPORT 1994/1995 Well we've come to the end of another summer season and I like to congratulate all the children from Bayswater Bullets for their achievements throughout the season and to those who competed in Divisionals, Regionals, State and Knox Championships. We've had great results from all our athletes. A big thankyou to the Committee - Hoddy, Kerry, Maree, Leonie, Naomi, Andrew and Robert, for their dedication to the club and endless hours they all put in to enable the successful running of Bayswater Bullets. Without their efforts we wouldn't survive. I hope we can encourage some new members onto the Committee this year. I wish the Cross Country athletes every success with their endeavours during the winter season. Good luck to those children who participate in other sports during winter and I look forward to seeing you all back for the start of the summer season. Malcolm Sword
TEAM MANAGERS REPORT 1994/1995 Well, another season over. This season I was Team Managing on my own, missing Greg's assistance greatly. (Don't let him know though) It can be a consuming job sometimes mainly because the Team Manager is the focal person & is a job that does need 2 people to spread the load - particularly in the second half of the season. I will be standing down from this position to concentrate being a mother again, so I urge people to consider this job in the upcoming elections, the Club cannot function without one. I feel that this season we saw the Club develop in more ways than one. There was better camaraderie amongst athletes and parents alike. There were very few weeks that our duty members were down - this is a credit to the parents & as Team Manager I thank you sincerely. The season started with 53 athletes which declined to 48 athletes after Christmas, plus one athlete who once again broke a bone to miss the second half. (better luck next year David) We have seen 113 New Records this season with 920 Personal Bests. A pretty amazing feat! This year at Divisionals 6 athletes were required to compete in atrocious weather. For the first time since I have been involved in Little Aths the program was cancelled at 12:30. Hopefully Divisionals will be scraped from the calendar after this year. Special mention to Sally Booth who competed in 5 cm's of water & rain and the families who did duty. 14 athletes progressed to Regionals 2 later winning 5 gold, 2 silver & 4 Bronze medals, with 5 club records going by the wayside. 11 athletes progressed to State one month later. From these 11 athletes, 3 Gold, 2 Silver and 2 Bronze medals were won, as well as a further 5 Club records broken. The Club also won the trifecta with our Under 13 girl Peta Hodgkinson being selected to the State Team to compete in Darwin on 22nd April. From all of us at the Club we congratulate Peta & wish her well in Darwin. Highlights of the season: Numerous PB's & records being accomplished. Every athlete striving for their goals and obtaining them We say goodbye to our under 15 athletes Daisy, Hayden & Gavin & wish you well for the next journey in your sporting careers. Hayden is our third athlete to compete 9 years, while Daisy has done 8 years. We also congratulate Lindel, Melanie, Claire, Ryan & Gavin in obtaining the smaller milestone of 5 years. The children should be proud of their achievements & the manner that they have competed. They have been a terrific team, cheering & encouraging fellow members. Well done kids!!! You have given the Bayswater Bullets Little Athletics Club another successful season. In closing, I would like to thank everyone for their patience this year. I know there have been times where I have been tired, stressed out & very short in temper. I must thank - Lynne Kane for filling in at the table. Margaret Gostelow for doing the kids events each week. Maree for giving me a break from Team Managing & my children particularly Jarryd for missing all those events. Many of you have jumped in to help wherever needed & I'm sure that I have forgotten to mention someone, so thank you, you know who you are. I wish my successor all the best & hope you enjoy it as I have. Kerry Hodgkinson
