PRESIDENTS REPORT 1992/1993
This season has been very successful with many little athletes
achieving excellent results.
Many competed in State Relays & State & National Track
& Field receiving team & individual medals.
I would like to thank all parents who did their duty when
required during the season. Also the few who helped with the barbeques &
those who supported all fund raising including the Trivia night, Tattslotto
& various Raffles.
Many thanks to the sponsors who without their support our task
for raising money would be very difficult. I hope our members have supported
them with their custom.
To my committee, thanks to those who have supported me
throughout the year.
I would like to wish all Bayswater Little Athletes success in
whatever they do in the future.
Peter Marsh
TEAM MANAGERS REPORT 1992/1993
It has been a great pleasure for me to have been Team Manager
this season. For a reasonably small club, the children's enthusiasm and endeavour
have been rewarded with both individual and club successes.
Like many other sports, bad weather plagued this Track &
Field season. Although we are luckier than most centres, we still had many
cancelled programs. (the most we have had cancelled in the past few years was 2
weeks) Every child from U/7's - U/15's, has shown improvement over this season,
with many children achieving several PB's in the same event.
Knox Open Twilight meeting, although I haven't all the results
of this meeting, those children that did compete did enjoy themselves.
Divisionals held for U/9's - U/12's saw some fantastic results:-
7 new club records and 1 Knox record. 17 First ribbons, 7 second ribbons and 4
third ribbons.
Regionals this year were held over 2 days, one fine & one
wet, yet again we had some terrific results. Another 7 new club records, 1 new
Knox record & one equal Knox record. We also had a good medal tally, 7 Gold
Medals, 11 Silver & 8 Bronze.
State Championships - reaching this level is the culmination of
hard work and training. To step onto Olympic Park track as part of Knox's State
Team you are already a winner!
Bayswater had 11 Girls and 13 Boys reach State final level. WOW!
What results, 12 new club records, 2 new Knox records and 1 equal STATE Record!
The medal tally for State was 3 Gold medals and 5 Bronze medals.
This is the 1st year that the STATE SQUAD has been chosen from
the U/13's. Hayden Lacy not only jumped himself into the record books but
also secured himself a place in that squad with a High Jump of 1.68m.
The Interstate finals are to be held in Melbourne on the 24th
April and we wish Hayden all the best.
Championship day saw another 5 club records gained, with
Bayswater children having a very successful day, barely ever off the dais. Medal
tally for Championships was 31 Gold, 25 Silver and 13 Bronze.
Presentations were also made to Deanne Marsh who won Best U/12
Girl & the U/12 most PB's Award. Also Bayswater won the CHAMPION GIRLS TEAM
SHIELD.
Other awards were given to those that have completed 9 years in
Little Aths. Rebecca Riddle, Kirsty Waugh & Paul Caulfield received
these.
In summary I would like to congratulate all Bayswater children
and their successes and thank them for making my job such a pleasure.
I would also like to thank Greg Lacy for being such an able
assistant.
Wishing you all the very best for any future sporting
endeavours.
Janet Caulfield
