A special effort to get Knox Centre teams compete in the Ringwood Cross Country Open Day was a success. 27 Knox athletes entered with seven teams. All seven teams came in the top three placings including three Bayswater Bullets athletes. U/11 David Thomson won individual bronze in his event and special thanks to U/9 Erin Holdway who ran up an age group so that the U/10 Girls could form a team, in which she helped them win bronze.

After raining all night, the sun came out first thing in the morning and stayed. The Eastlink pathworks were still going on so was restricted to the 500m/1000m loops for all events without access to the back tracks.

Started off a clear sunny morning but after midday, clouds filled the sky and finally light rain started in the final event. A large turnout for this Open Day with 490 athletes from 30 different Centres including an athlete from New Zealand. This was our club's largest showing at a cross country open day for about 10 years, so well done to everyone competing! Full results can be found by clicking HERE.

A very muddy track after the weeks rain on this cloudy morning with brief very light showers combined with brief rays of sunshine. Welcome back to Emily who had an operation a month ago but had to stop running due to soreness. It was also great to see Sharnee back in action too.

The Benalla Queens Birthday long weekend is the most fun you can have on the Cross Country calendar. The Knox Centre having exclusive use of the "15 Mile Creek Camp" with all types of outdoor activities. On the Sunday was the Benalla Cross Country Open Day where our athletes did very well in the hilly terrain of the state forest. Numbers were down on last year with David being the only entrant in the boys U/11event, but did extremely well, as he was put into the U/12 race and won this event. Annie also won for her first time at Benalla.

A very sunny morning but with cool light winds. Great to see Sharnee compete in Cross Country for the first time this season. A few athletes took advantage of "running up an age group" to run a longer course to practice for the Primary Schools Zone Cross Country Championships coming up.

Congratulations to Emma Thomson and Annie Egan who had progressed in the 10 Year Girls and to David Thomson progressing in the 12 Year Boys to the Whitehorse Zone School Cross Country Championships being held 5th June at Yarra Valley Racecourse. Other club members to run for their schools in the District Cross Country were Emily Dewar, Erin Holdway, Jacob Mumford, Claire Elliott, Deborah Elliott and Josh Holdway.

A bright and sunny Easter Saturday morning for our first Cross Country run for the season. It was great to see quite a few of our first season athletes compete Cross Country for their first time. A highlight was the close finish between U/7's Adam & Tom. Remember this season the KLAC Cross Country Committee is enforcing the "No Patch No Points" rule which means your result will not be officially recorded if not wearing your number patch.

Although the sun was out for the day, the first few hundred metres of the track was water logged from the nights rain but was a better Cross Country track than Hanging Rock. Our athletes enjoyed the experience of competing at the State Level against the best Cross Country athletes in Victoria. Annie and David were first over the line for the Knox Centre and Erin was the fourth Knox athlete out of six.
