Welcome to the Bayswater Bullets Little Athletics Club

Who are we?

Bayswater Bullets are one of eleven clubs within the Knox Little Athletics Centre in the City of Knox, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.

Established in 1968, this coming Summer Track & Field season will be our 41st season of competition and we will be celebrating our 40th Anniversary at the season start.

Little Athletics recognises that children vary widely in shape, size and athletic ability, and is thus one of few sports that successfully caters for them all. The Little Athletics motto is "Family, Fun and Fitness". It is also the most affordable junior sport as well!

We are always welcoming new athletes to come down and join us. No previous athletic ability or experience is necessary.

The emphasis is on having fun and each athlete to achieve their own personal best time or distance for each event they compete in.  For further information, please click on  the "buttons" to the left or click  "links" in blue just below.

Sat 4th October 2008

This has been the best start for our club for many years with so many new families joining us - 13 athletes so far including 3 from the Winter Cross Country Season. Your fees also include the Cross Country season which is held at various parks around Knox and runs from April to August.

As the Knox Centre is currently celebrating its 40th Anniversary, all athletes will receive a specially struck commemorative medallion at our "Come Back To Knox" family fun day on 22nd November. On this day, events will cease at 11:00am for a BBQ, then activities will start around midday until 3:00pm or so.

A special thanks to Hans Damen and Andrea Heckenberg  who volunteered to do duty on their very first day of competition and also to Kath Elliott who helped out too, so events could get underway. These families have two more duty dates to choose before Christmas and a duty form will be passed around next week.  Rather than just assigning duty dates, at Bayswater, we ask families to choose their own convenient dates; three "before Christmas" duty dates and later in the year, three "After Christmas" duty dates.

These will be listed on the "Duty Roster" Button to the left or by clicking HERE!

If you would like to request duty dates before hand, please email your requests in.

We welcome this week's new registrations which are U/7 Kyha Stapp, U/7 Lachlan Bright, U/8 Sarah Cobb, U/10 Daniel Cobb, U/11 Chris Heckenberg, U/12 Emma Heckenberg and U/14 Victoria Heckenberg.

Best PB (Personal Best) effort for the day goes to U/10's Cody Norton, Nathan Goodger, Thomas Elliott and U/11 Annie Egan with 3 PB's each. At Bayswater, PB's carry over from the previous season and our new athletes will have a chance to beat their times or distances next time they compete in that same event.

Next week is "Bring a Friend Day" where you can invite your friends down to our track to tryout Little Athletics. - just have them register with our Team Managers Alex & Tracey upon arrival.

Also relay training has started for the U/9 age group and above with each age group having its own coach. Please click on the Relays button to the left or HERE! for further relay info.

The opening day "March Past" was brought back for the first time since the 1990's as a 40th Anniversary event. Pictured below is our team with some of our old club banners from the 1970's.

Wanted! New Athletics to Join Bayswater Bullets!

We are looking forward to an exciting season and looking for new families to come and join us!

We have the advantage in being one of the smaller clubs within in the Knox Centre where it is more personalised with families getting to know each other.

We have a very comprehensive website which has been online now for over six years and have received many messages from around the Little Athletics community as being the best club informative website in the country.  We also edit the Knox Centre Website which is the website that other Centre's come to in finding out what is going on!

Once a month we have a Friday Twilight so that you can have a Saturday morning free.

Bayswater Bullets has the lowest joining fee within the Knox Centre as we divert our fundraising to prevent club cost increases. For the first child, it is $105 for the season and $90 for the second child onwards. Compare this to the other clubs.

For more information, please click on the Club Information link above or on the buttons to the left.

The start of the season will be our 40th Anniversary and Bayswater Bullets are one of the foundation clubs. Please click  www.klac23.org.au/KLAC1968-2008.htm for full details of activities.

We also have a more comprehensive recording of your child's achievements throughout the season so that your family and friends can see. Our "Season Diary" is now entering its sixth season where we record every personal best and other achievement your child receives. Please click on the Season Diary button on the left or click HERE!

Please contact us on the email address below or call the club President, Stephen Egan on  9762 7676 for any other queries. We will be very pleased to hear from you and to welcome you and your family to the Bayswater Bullets team!

The Knox Centre website has a webpage dedicated to 40th Anniversary which can be seen from HERE!

Parent Duty Roster

Parents are required to do duty six times a season. We find it more convenient for parents to choose their own Parent Duty dates which would suit.. Three before Christmas and three after. The "before" Christmas roster is being filled in now so will come around this week for your 3 preferred dates. Please click on the "Duty Roster" button to the left or click HERE! to view.
