Knox LAC Coaches Profiles Knox is very fortunate to have a large number of dedicated, experienced & qualified coaches who provide an excellent coaching service to Knox athletes. All Knox coach's are volunteers and donate their time and energy for the love of the sport and to assist athletes be the best that they can be. This page provides a brief summary of their availability, contact details, background and interests. Specialist sessions and private training may incur a fee. Please discuss this with the relevant coach beforehand.
We coach all comers (must be members of Knox Little Athletics) and all events for free on the nominated training days. Just turn up! Due to the large numbers of athletes attending training at Knox, coaches may sometimes have to restrict numbers where safety, control, ability and size differences of athletes is a concern. Commencing coaching at the end of the season when many athletes are preparing for Regional and State competitions is perhaps not the best time to start training.
Are you interested in coaching? Knox LAC assists current and potential coaches to further their coaching knowledge by encouraging attendance at recognised ATFCA coaching courses. Individuals undertaking and applying the benefits of undertaking an approved coaching course and commit to coaching regularly will be reimbursed their out of pocket expenses.
Coaching sessions for track (sprints distance and relays) & field (jumps and throws) events are held primarily on Mon & Wed evenings commencing in September through to March with a short break over the Christmas/New Year period. The track is reserved for Little Athletics use from 4-7pm, but start times vary depending on the coach & event. To relieve track congestion hurdles training is conducted on Thursday evening from 5:30-7pm. Coaching availability varies depending on each coaches work and family commitments. Note: Tue & Thu evenings are reserved for Knox Senior Club athletes apart from the Hurdles session mentioned above.
