| How many reports does an athlete need to receive disqualification? | When there are between 4 and 7 judges on a judging
panel an athlete requires 3 reports to receive
disqualification. If there are only 2 to 3 judges on the panel the athlete only requires 2 reports to receive a disqualification. |
| How will I know if I am in danger of breaching one of the walking rules? | In little athletics Walk Judges may give a
verbal caution. Firstly the judge will call out your bib number to get your attention. They would then say “Caution” For example“ Number 25 Caution, Loss of contact.” |
| My child was disqualified and in my opinion should not have been. Can I turn over the decision? | Decisions of the judging panel are final. However, if a disqualification occurs, the judges at Knox encourage you to speak with them so they can explain why the child was disqualified. |
| Do cautions count towards a disqualification? | No they do not. A caution means the athlete is in danger of breaching the race walking rules. Just be careful and perhaps slow down and concentrate on your technique |
| Can one judge single out an athlete and disqualify them? | No, this can not be done. A
judge may caution an athlete twice, once for knees and once for
contact.
However, each judge can only report an athlete once

| If I receive disqualification, how will I find out? | The chief judge is the only judge whom informs athletes of their disqualification. The recording officials and other judges do not. |
| I am an athlete in the under 11 age group and was disqualified in the last race. Why was I disqualified when I did not hear any reports from the judges? | In little athletics, verbal reports are given to
the under 7 to under 10 age groups.
Non verbal reports are given to under 11 to under 15. This is why you did not hear your reports. |
